Omni Bedford Springs Resort – Allegheny Mountains, PA

4-Star Mountainside Resort Fed by Mineral Springs

Luxury Golf & Spa Resort in Bedford Springs, PA
After an unprecedented $120 million renewal and expansion, guests now enjoy a new Omni Bedford Springs Resort. The legend began over 200 years ago at Bedford Springs, where eight mineral springs became famed as a mecca of rejuvenation. Today, the legacy continues at the world-class Springs Eternal Spa incorporating treatments with mineral waters, and a magnificently restored golf course. From our luxurious guest room accommodations and historic dining venues, to cutting edge conference rooms—we have preserved all of the original historic charm with the addition of modern creature comforts.

So easy to get to… so hard to leave! Located in South Central Pennsylvania’s scenic Cumberland Valley just 90 minutes from Pittsburgh, two hours from Washington, DC and three hours from Philadelphia, the Omni Bedford Springs Resort is three miles off the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Exit 146. Experience the unrivaled luxury and service of the AAA Four-Diamond Omni Bedford Springs Resort, a National Historic Landmark.

History of the Resort
In the late 18th century, Dr. John Anderson wanted to reap the curative benefits of the natural hot springs that dot the Allegheny Mountains. He purchased a 2,200-acre plot of land here, and he used locally quarried stones to build a lodge that serves as the foundation for today’s Omni Bedford Springs Resort. Over the past two centuries, 10 US presidents have stayed at the hotel—a National Historic Landmark that recently underwent a $120 million renovation. But even with its newly restored wings and plush furnishings, the Omni’s main draw is still its eight mineral springs, some of which feed the heated indoor and outdoor pools.

Inspired by the local Native Americans who first discovered the springs’ healing properties, the 30,000-square-foot Springs Eternal Spa uses natural mineral water in every one of its treatments. In Bedford Bath rituals, the client alternates between hot and cool mineral pools that are equipped with massaging jets. The service also includes a ginger body polish and steam therapy infused with indigenous botanicals. Other treatments, such as massages and body wraps, employ local herbs, and many culminate with a stint in the private spa garden.

Five restaurants are onsite, ranging from fine dining to a casual poolside grill. Lit by chandeliers, the stately Crystal Room features farm-to-table entrees and Pennsylvania Dutch buffets. Come nightfall, you can gather around a stone fire pit on the lawn and nibble on marshmallows toasted over the flames.

Bedford, Pennsylvania: Rustic Mountain Town Convenient for Hiking and Cross-Country Skiing

The rural town of Bedford is cradled amid the verdant Allegheny Mountains. There are 25 miles of hiking trails accessible from the Omni; meanwhile, the nearby Blue Knob State Park contains a vast network of gently sloping loops and steady uphill climbs. Multi-use trails are open for mountain biking, horseback riding, and seasonal cross-country skiing. In warmer months, many take to the park’s streams for trout fishing.
